After the energized response to our Student and Faculty Forum last week, we have organized the first meeting for the OurColumbia Coalition for Friday, November 10, from 3-5pm in room 1301 of the 600 S. Michigan building. We must move quickly to address the concerns that were voiced at the event before its too late.
We will discuss social media platforms for the coalition, including website development, Facebook and Twitter; creating a list of demands and a mission statement; and, deciding on dates for upcoming actions and events. We will also be talking about the ways the college administration will try to divide our group and methods to halt our action. This agenda is a proposal and open to collective decision making.
This is an important meeting as it will lay the foundation for our coalition and our plans to take back our school. Please make every effort to attend and invite other students and faculty interested in returning Columbia back to its original mission of community, creative learning and inclusiveness. We encourage you to invite at least one other faculty member to attend and let your students know about this pivotal event. Food will be served. Please RSVP at email@example.com by Thursday.
